Citi Simplicity® Card: learn more about this financial product

In fact, it is a simple card created with a single purpose: to exempt you from interest for a long time. Therefore, this is an interesting option for those considering making high-value purchases.

In addition, it is great for those who want to transfer the balance to consolidate debts and pay them interest-free. In effect, this card offers one year of 0% APR for purchases.

This period is much longer for balance transfers: 21 months (almost two years). Thus, these advantages are enough for you to count on this service. However, this card offers other benefits.

With this one, you will never have to worry about annuity fees, late fees, and APR penalties. In effect, these fees will remain at zero as long as you use that card.

In addition, this card offers a disclaimer service. Thus, in case of unrecognized purchases, you will not have to bear losses. With this tool, you can also control the due date of your balance payment.

Beginning, middle, or end of the month? You choose! Finally, it’s a Mastercard card. Accepted anywhere in the country and even the world.

In fact, this card is surprising by the long period of 0% APR, mainly for balance transfers. However, before choosing this tool to get rid of interest, understand its main positives and negatives:

What are the benefits?

  • Longer 0% APR periods for purchases (12 months) and balance transfers (21 months);
  • No annuity;
  • No late fees and no penalty APR;
  • Disclaimer in case of unauthorized use.

And what are the drawbacks?

  • No reward program;
  • No welcome bonus;
  • After the 0% APR period, APR rates are not exactly attractive (they remain within the market average);
  • Relatively high balance transfer fee (5% or $5, whichever is greater). On a $5,000 balance transfer, for example, the fee paid would be $250.

What credit score do you need to get the Citi Simplicity® Card?

In fact, to increase your chances of being approved, it is advisable to have a good or excellent credit score. Therefore, we recommend a score higher than 670.
