Low cost domestic and international flights for South Africans

Mango Airlines, a specialist in offering domestic and international flights at costs well below average

Mango Airlines entered the market in 2006 as a daughter company of South African Airways with a mission: to make air travel extremely affordable. This was possible thanks to the offer of flights at extremely low prices. Find out how you can benefit from this company on your next national or international trips.

Here are four perks or benefits that Mango Airlines offers its passengers:

Affordable Prices: Mango Airlines is on a mission to make air travel more affordable for South Africans.
Excellent flight experience: Comfortable and convenient flight experience for your passengers (including spacious seats, in-flight service, and in-flight entertainment).
Multi-Destination Flights: Flights to multiple destinations in South Africa, as well as international destinations such as Zanzibar, Mauritius, and Zambia.
Booking Flexibility: Change your booking with no change fee. This gives passengers more flexibility to adjust their trips according to their needs.

Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, Mango Airlines offered flights to several destinations in South Africa including Johannesburg, Cape Town, Durban, Port Elizabeth, Bloemfontein, George, and others. The airline also offered international flights to Zanzibar, Tanzania, and Zambia. Due to the air crisis generated by the interruption of flights during the pandemic and logistical problems, this company had its activities interrupted with no deadline for return.

Mango Airlines offers a loyalty program called “SAA Voyager” in partnership with South African Airways. This program allows customers to accumulate points when flying with Mango Airlines and other partner airlines and exchange these points for rewards such as free airline tickets, cabin upgrades, discounts on hotels, and car rentals, among others. The number of points can advance in terms of membership levels. This will increase your perks and rewards.

According to sources close to the company, a return is not ruled out. The airline said it was in talks with its creditors and the South African government to secure a financial restructuring plan that would allow it to resume operations. However, so far, the company’s website remains inactive and no official announcement has been made.
